Here is a video of the first wing chun form Siu Nim Tao…to the uninformed this form looks non flashy and non effective, to those in the know the first form of wing chun is critical to ones success in using the and understanding the system.

Siu nim tao means little idea and uses concepts of body structure and spacial awareness as well as mind training to build the body a new weapon. I made this video for my students but it is a googd reference for anyone interested in seeing wing chun’s first form. Two major components are to be learnt and understood whilst practicing the form.

1: keep your elbow in line with the hip to ensure body structure and link. If the hand and arm go forward so does the whole body, powered by the legs.

2: keep the flow of movement, one technique leads to another, no stopping, just flow, "bong sau never stays" those who know wing chun understand this concept.

3: Little Idea, total mind control, focus on one movement at a time, one thing at a time. this is a philosophy for life and should be used by wing chun practioners always.

Simon Liste VS. Aaron Baum

Simon Liste had been training in Chu Sau Lei Wing Chun for 8 years with a total of 12 years in Wing Chun.

Simon had no one to fight so Chu Sau Lei team mate Aaron Baum stepped up to give Simon a war.

These guys set out put a beat down on each other. Showing the true spirit of competing. No egos, no bad feelings, just two fighters doing what they do. Total respect for each other and no quarter given! This was the fight of the day! Both warriors put on a great show of hardcore Chi Sau fighting with excellent control of structure, timing and power. This fight really set the bar the event.
